Partly Supersymmetric Grand Unification
It is shown how grand unification can occur in models which are partly supersymmetric. The particle states which are composite do not contribute to the running of gauge couplings above the compositeness scale, while the elementary states contribute the usual large logarithmns. This introduces a new differential running contribution to the gauge couplings from partly composite SU(5) matter multi...
متن کاملReconciling Supersymmetric Grand Unification
We argue that supersymmetric grand unification of gauge couplings is not incompatible with small αs, even without large GUT-scale corrections, if one relaxes a usual universal gaugino mass assumption. A commonly assumed relation M2 ≃ mg̃/3 is in gross contradiction with αs ≈ 0.11. Instead, small αs favors M2 ≫ mg̃. If this is indeed the case our observation casts doubt on another commonly used re...
متن کاملWarped Supersymmetric Grand Unification
We construct a realistic theory of grand unification in AdS5 truncated by branes, in which the unified gauge symmetry is broken by boundary conditions and the electroweak scale is generated by the AdS warp factor. We show that the theory preserves the successful gauge coupling unification of the 4D MSSM at leading-logarithmic level. Kaluza-Klein towers, including those of XY gauge and colored H...
متن کاملDicyclic horizontal symmetry and supersymmetric grand unification.
It is shown how to use as horizontal symmetry the dicyclic group Q 6 ⊂ SU (2) in a supersymmetric unification SU (5)⊗SU (5)⊗SU (2) where one SU (5) acts on the first and second families, in a horizontal doublet, and the other acts on the third. This can lead to acceptable quark masses and mixings, with an economic choice of matter supermultiplets, and charged lepton masses can be accommodated.
